 Biddulph Valley Surgery

We are asking that patients coming in to the surgery waiting area MUST wear a face mask and sanitise their hands.

We have hand sanitiser on entry in to the waiting room area.

If you have got your own face mask, please can we ask that you use this. If you do not have one, we will provide you with one.

If you have any of the below symptoms:

  • a high temperature
  • a new, continuous cough
  • a loss of, or change to, your sense of smell or taste

Anyone with symptoms should self-isolate for 7 days from when their symptoms started.

Anyone who does not have symptoms should self-isolate for 14 days from when the first person in your home started having symptoms.

If symptoms are serious, or get worse, visit the NHS111 online service.

For the latest Covid-19 advice please visit www.nhs.uk/coronavirus.

Due to the current situation with regard to coronavirus (COVID-19) we are changing our appointment system as a short term precautionary measure only.

As of now all appointments offered will be a telephone triage with our clinicians.  If the clinician feels you need to be seen this will be arranged for you.

These changes have been put in place for the welfare of our most vulnerable patients and staff, so that we can continue to provide you with the best care available in these difficult circumstances.

As always, we thank you for your understanding and kindness.

We work in partnership with our patients and our Patient Participation Group (PPG) to provide medical care.  The surgery has a General Medical Services (GMS) contract with the local health organisation North Staffs CCG and offers directly and locally enhanced services to its patients.

The surgery is a Keele University undergraduate teaching practice.

The regulated activities under CQC are:

* Family planning

Our Aims and Objectives for delivering each of the above regulated activities are contained within Our Practice Ethos:

* We aim to provide the highest possible quality of care by working in partnership with our patients, staff and other services in a compassionate, confidential and supportive way

* We recognize the importance of equality and diversity and aim to treat everyone equally and with respect

* We aim to be friendly, flexible, approachable and accessible

* We will actively seek your views on what you think we do well, what you think we could improve and how we could improve it

* We continually aim to improve our standards by listening, learning and promoting staff development

Our aims are to offer the highest standard of health care and advice to our patients, with the resources available to us.

We have a team approach to patient care and endeavour to monitor the service provided to patients, to ensure that it meets current standards of excellence.

We are dedicated to ensuring that Practice staff and Doctors are trained to the highest level and to provide a stimulating and rewarding environment in which to work.
