Meet the Team

Our doctors work in a partnership. Although you are registered with a named doctor, you may see any of the doctors in the practice.

Whenever possible, we will arrange an appointment with the Doctor of your choice. At times, it may not be possible to do this and you will be offered an appointment with one of the other Doctors.

Dr Andrew N F Green

I am originally from Blackpool, and trained in London at the Middlesex Hospital Medical School. I joined the practice in 1995.

I have special interests in heart disease, surgical procedures, undertaking minor surgery here in the practice and joint disease, carrying out joint injections.

In my spare time I enjoy swimming running & cycling, having competed in many events including Ironman triathlon. I also enjoy watching many sports particularly rugby union and cricket.

I completed my medical school at Calicut Medical College India and finished my GP training in the Black Country and Walsall area in 2010. I moved to Stoke on Trent in 2013.

Outside of the workplace Iam interested in Indian classical art forms which I continue to learn.

Dr Alexandra T Giffen

I am originally from Sussex but moved to Stoke on Trent to attend Keele university medical school. I Found the people very welcoming and friendly and fell in love with the peak district and local countryside, so settled here with my Husband and now 3 children.

I love walking and climbing and hope to soon be able to do more of it without carrying a child on my back.

I have interest in the care of the elderly and palliative care.

Doctors in Training

Biddulph Valley Surgery is a training practice. GP Specialty Trainees work with the Practice for four to twelve months. These doctors are hospital trained and have been qualified doctors for a number of years. During the time at the practice they learn to apply their skills within the community.

We hope you will be happy for these Doctors to play a part in your care, but if you have any concerns about this, please inform the Receptionist and we will respect your wishes. They are always supervised by a qualified GP and they will be able to consult him/her whenever the need arises.

Medical Students

We are a teaching practice for Keele University medical students and are proud to be involved in training tomorrow’s doctors. As a result, students may lead or observe your appointment.

If you would rather not see medical students, please inform reception. Your care will in no way be affected by this.

Please note, we will always inform you on booking your appointment if a medical student is going to be observing or leading your appointment.
